Breaking: Another ghastly accident in Lagos as 40ft container falls and crushes SUV in Ago-Palace

Another 40-foot container had fallen and crushed an SUV at the Ago-Palace Way area of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, said the incident makes it the fifth on Friday of containers falling in different parts of the stat. Recall that three containers had fallen in the Ikeja, Ojuelegba, and Mile 12 areas of the state.

However, LASTMA’s Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, in a statement said the latest incident occurred as a result of brake failure on the part of the traile

Adebayo also noted that the container crushed an SUV from the rear, however noting that no life was lost in the accidentThe General Manager, LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, confirmed that the agency recorded five incidents today.

He said, “Today alone, the agency recorded five different container truck accidents at Ketu inward Mile 12, Ojuelegba Bridge inward stadium, under the bridge by LASUTH, Ago Palace Road and Oke-Afa bridge inward Jakande Estate.”

Meanwhile LASTMA noted that the response unit of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency have been contacted about the incident at Ago Palace way for immediate evacuation.
